RATED Closing Ceremony

April 23 2015 was a day of reflection and pride for the DO Ltd. Team and the forty youth who successfully completed the Recognising Abilities Through Training and Employment Development (RATED) programme.

The participants completed training in Commercial Food Preparation, Housekeeping, Customer Service and Data Operations. Guest Speaker, the Honourable Reverend Ronald Thwaites, Minister of Education, encouraged the trainees to continue their pursuit of excellence.

Our CEO, Maureen Webber, reiterated the commitment of the DO Ltd team to support full inclusion of persons with disAbilities in the social and economic fabric of our society.

Recognising Ability through Training and Employment Development – RATED

Recognising Ability through Training and Employment Development (RATED) is an integrated vocational training and employment services initiative supporting forty (40) young persons within Kingston and St Andrew with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Participants are attending classes at two training locations – Genesis Academy and Institute of Workforce Education and Development (IWED) and will complete their programme in April 2015, at which time they will complete HEART Trust/NTA level 1 certification in various unit competencies. Participants are currently being trained in General Food Preparation, Housekeeping, MerchandiSing, Food Preparation and Data Operations.



RATED consists of various elements, including:

Development Options designed and manages RATED, with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
